WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYPNOSIS AND HYPNOTHERAPY?

Experts offer various definitions of hypnosis. In simple terms, hypnosis is a natural state of mind characterized by profound physical, mental, and emotional relaxation (a concept partially attributed to Gil Boyne).

We naturally experience this state multiple times a day—for instance, in the twilight moments just before falling asleep or fully waking, or while driving a familiar route and realizing you don’t remember the journey.

Hypnotherapy is the practice of using hypnosis as a tool, guided by a skilled hypnotherapist, to access the subconscious mind. This part of the mind governs emotions, intuition, imagination, creativity, habits, and patterns. Through hypnotherapy, one can cultivate positive traits or habits necessary for success and release negative thoughts or behaviors that no longer serve them.

CAN ANYONE BE HYPNOTIZED?

Any average person in a healthy state of mind can be hypnotized if they are willing to. Your intention and willingness is your guidance. If you do not want to be hypnotized, you simply cannot be hypnotized.

WHO SHOULD NOT BE HYPNOTIZED?

Individuals with physical brain damage, psychosis, epilepsy, or those under the influence of drugs or other substances may have difficulty entering a trance and undergoing the hypnotherapy process. For this reason, it is recommended that they avoid hypnosis.

WHAT ARE THE MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT HYPNOSIS?

Some people fear being hypnotized, worried they might lose control, say or do something foolish, or act against their will. Others are concerned about getting stuck in a trance state and being unable to come out of it. These misconceptions, often influenced by stage hypnosis or movies, reflect deeper fears individuals may have about themselves. Interestingly, those who hold such fears can benefit significantly from hypnotherapy, as it allows them to access their subconscious, confront those fears, and let them go for good.

WHAT KIND OF ISSUES CAN HYPNOTHERAPY HELP WITH?

Our subconscious is like a supercomputer, holding all the thoughts and beliefs programmed into it since before birth by influential people in our lives—whether at home or in society. These programs shape our emotions, physical conditions, self-perception, and behaviors. They influence whether we see ourselves as healthy or unhealthy, beautiful or unattractive, successful or unsuccessful. Hypnotherapy is a gentle yet powerful process that allows us to access the subconscious and rewrite these programs.

Are you struggling with eating habits, addictions, or focusing on school, work, or family life? Do you suffer from phobias, relationship challenges, or a fear of failure or being seen? Have you lost something and can’t recall when, where, or how? Are you experiencing unexplained emotional pain, fear, or dissatisfaction with your body or self-image? Hypnotherapy can help you rewrite the programs in your subconscious and create positive, lasting change.

CAN CHILDREN BENEFIT FROM LIFE COACHING AND HYPNOTHERAPY?

Absolutely! Children are a joy to work with. Up until age six, they are in a natural state of hypnosis, which is why everything they feel or observe leaves a lasting imprint. They are also incredibly creative and can effortlessly explore options to find the best solutions to their issues. In many ways, they become our greatest teachers if we let them. Working with children is especially rewarding, knowing that resolving their challenges now can spare them the heavy emotional burdens we often carry into adulthood.

HOW LONG WILL THE EFFECT OF POSITIVE SUGGESTIONS IN A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION LAST IN REAL LIFE?

Healing is a process, and while hypnotherapy is a highly effective tool, it is not a magic cure. Our intention, willingness to take responsibility for our wellness and success, the depth of our wounds, and the duration of our struggles all play significant roles in determining the effectiveness of post-hypnotic suggestions and how long their impact lasts.
